He teaches many different subjects, mainly math and biology. He is also a mentor!
He has wanted to become a teacher since he was in elementary school, so he decided to pursue the profession while in college. Needless to say, he chose the correct profession because he is a natural in front of the classroom!
I wanted to know more about his story other than that he teaches math and biology, so I asked him a few questions concerning his personal life. He’s been married to his high school sweetheart (who he met when he was fourteen years old) for a few decades now! They moved from Belgium to Aruba a few years ago and have been enjoying island life ever since. However, he does miss a few things about his life in Belgium, such as going to the pub with his colleagues and talking about the day and biking in the forest. He teaches many different subjects, mainly math and biology. He is also a mentor!
Now you might be wondering how or why he ended up on this beautiful sunny island…
He had applied for teaching jobs all over the world, like in Aruba, Singapore, Curaçao etc.
Aruba was the first to accept and he hasn’t looked back ever since. You might be wondering why he only teaches year one, it’s because he finds that year one is more fun to teach and that it’s very important that you get a good teacher in your first year because the first teacher you have can have a big effect on how you do further in your school years.
He has inspired many people to be as nice, funny, caring and motivated as he is and for that we are grateful for all that he has done for us.
